Affiliation Statement

Although there are dozens if not hundreds of ministries globally – and particularly in North America – that use the words “Encounter” or “Encounters”, we are not formally affiliated with any other ministries, including but not limited to those with similar names also based in Nevada.  Nor are we affiliated with any specific church, regardless of whether they have the word “Encounter” in their name or describe events they may conduct as “Encounters”.

The concept of providing men, women, youth, and married couples with an intensive, structured, 3-day period of seeking and encountering God – perhaps for the very first time in their lives – is not unique to our ministry.  Nor are some of the approaches or content we use unique to us.  In fact, the roots of such events can actually be traced to 1944 and the Catholic Church in Spain via something called “Tres Dias” (Three Days).  Many, many ministries have since emulated this concept of an intensive, 3-day “retreat” while adapting it to the distinctives of the Protestant faith and their own unique approaches in making Christianity relevant and life-changing.   Thus, regardless of these shared roots or any similarities with other ministries, we remain separate and distinct to ensure that we remain true to our own calling, mission, and approaches as a non-denominational, evangelical Christian ministry in reaching the world for Christ and fulfilling the Great Commission.  We celebrate the many other ministries similar to our own that our likewise fulfilling the Great Commission to bring all people to the foot of the cross and make them faithful disciples of Christ.
